Destination: Thunder Mountain / Location: High desert of Northern Nevada
Looking for a historic sight off the beaten path? You might be like us and find yourself accidently stumbling upon this interesting place somewhere in Nevada. Jam packed with dramatic folk art paying tribute to the Native Americans for the suffering they endured during the brutality of the early settlement days, this roadside wonder is turning heads off the I-80. For the curious at heart, we're pulling over to snoop around its ruins. Now abandoned, Thunder Mountain stays alive entirely dependent on charitable donations by visitors to the monument. It's definitely an interesting place with sort of an eerie feeling to it, but it's nice to see that someone was passionate enough to dedicate their life to creating art for a cause.
Oh my gosh I've been here! Once when I was driving from Boise to San Francisco!! There was a guy there who talked to us for hours
