Activity: Skiing at Bear Mountain  Lodging: Cabins4Less  Location: Big Bear, California

Last weekend Chase and I jumped in our mini coop and made our way up to Big Bear. We wanted to see some snow and get away for a cozy cabin retreat and some skiing. Something I love about living in San Diego is you can start you day skiing and end it surfing. Absolutely amazing if you truly sit and think about it. So Big Bear it was!

We love staying in rustic quaint cabins and cabin4less is both affordable and adorable. There are so many cabins available so no matter the size of your crew, there is a cabin for you. The first night Chase and I stayed in cabin #6 and it was a cute studio size with a comfortable bed, wireless, tv, jacuzzi tub, conventional oven, stove top, bathroom and all the basic essentials you need. We ended up grilling hot dogs for dinner on the outdoor bbq which would be even more amazing in the summer!

After a long day of skiing we stayed in cabin #13 which was a one bedroom. We definitely loved this size, it was perfect and much more spacious. There was an adorable quaint living room with a real fire place for coziness and s'mores. The kitchen had everything you need, a full oven, fridge, freezer, sink, microwave and all the utensils and dish ware available. Their was a full bathroom and a perfectly sized bedroom with a tv and all the storage you could need. It truly was ideal, we loved staying here and will definitely be back again during the summer.

Although the snow at Bear wasn't all that great for skiing, we had beautiful blue skies and plenty of time together for our winter retreat getaway. I loved being able to ski on a Friday, the crowds were minimal and we never had to wait in line for the lift. Plus the tickets were less expensive, definitely try and go on a weekday if you can.

Chase and I spent our spare time walking to the beautiful Boulder Bay which was right by our cabins, exploring the village and eating at yummy restaurants. We definitely recommend Grizzly Manor for breakfast and Saucy Mamas for dinner. Amazing food and wonderful customer service. Hope you can visit Big Bear soon!
