Destination: Mt. High Ski Resort / Location: Wrightwood, CA / Activity: Skiing and Snowboarding

We were hoping for Spring skiing to hold out a little longer and although some resorts in California are still reported to be open we're not too interested in skiing in glue and pebbles anymore. I was able to squeeze in a few more turns up at Mountain High Ski Resort just before they closed for the season. Mt. High is about 1.5 hrs from LA in the San Gabriel Mountains at a range of 7-8,000 ft elevation. It's a pretty fun resort when the runs are actually all open, and has a decent terrain park with a good variety of boxes and little bumps. While I prefer Bear Mountain, Mt. High offers fun skiing closer to home if you're living in Los Angeles and it'll do the job to get you sliding. The crowd at Mt. High is predominantly high-school age with a surplus of partying and drinking on the slopes, which isn't my vibe at all (hence my preferences stated earlier). If you're looking for a quick trip for a slightly cheaper lift ticket, ski Mt. High and rock with it, roll with it.
