Chase and I hopped on the bus from Wailea and made our way around the island to this cute little North Shore town, Paia. Recommended to me by a friend who used to live in Maui, I knew this was a place I had to see. Not only is the beautiful Paia Bay located just minutes behind these cute buildings, but this town is loaded with amazing eateries.
It was so hard to choose, but Chase and I found ourselves in a hurry to get to the beach so stopped by the sandwich and smoothie shop, Hana Bay Picnic Co. It had healthy and delicious sandwiches on the most amazing bread. Oh my, delicious. They also had tasty smoothies but we were saving room for gelato. So if you ever want a yummy lunch that will fill you up while not making you feel icky from all that travel eating, definitely stop here. This is also the perfect pit stop if you are headed down the road to Hana. Always smart to pack a lunch!
Nothing tops off a good lunch better than gelato on the seashore. Ono Gelato Company is located in various places throughout Maui. We found one in Paia and Lahaina, and of course ate some at both. Definitely try the island fruit, particularly guava or lilikoi! So good! Or, you can go traditional with stracciatella or chocolate. Either way, gelato puts ice cream to shame. And that my friends, is hard to do. But eat fast, it melts in seconds!
Aw, I just got back from Italy and now I'm craving some good gelato. The pictures here are absolutely beautiful.
