PADDLE-BOARD WAIMEA BAY

8/23/12

Destination: Waimea Bay / Activity: Paddleboarding / Paddle-board: borrowed from friend

The waves on the North Shore are pretty much flat throughout the entire summer. So if you are looking for a more relaxing and peaceful time at the beach with calm and glassy waters, come anytime between May and August. The waters are turquoise blue and the sun is hot. It makes for perfect snorkeling and paddle-boarding.

A couple weeks ago my husband Chase and I decided to spend the evening at Waimea Bay. It was the perfect end to an awesome beach day. We had a BBQ and paddle-boarded while watching the sunset. We were lucky enough to play around on our friend's board for free! Although, there are often locals right there on the beach who you can rent from for a small fine, or check out Sharks Cove Rentals just minutes from the beach. Have fun!
