CELEBRATION PARK

5/16/12

Location: Idaho / Destination: Celebration Park / Activity: Hiking

This weekend we went hiking in Idaho's beautiful desert. Overall the hike is around four miles and anybody can do it, even a three year old. We set up camp at the shore of a small lake and called it home for the night. We kept it simple with food that didn't require cooking, even though we ended up making a fire that night for s'mores.

Right now the ticks are abundant so get your dog some tick medicine! Jimmy came home with just one that we could find. Also, did you notice my perfect potty in the wilderness spot? Ky would be proud. I took her advice and found the perfect rock to lean on so I didn't have to take off my pants. I did it!

The next morning we woke up to a lovely sunrise over the lake. We hiked to some nearby sand dunes and spent the afternoon playing and staying hydrated. The desert is h-o-t! FYI, GoLite is having a bomb sale right now! You can save loads of money on quality gear that weighs practically nothing. I just got myself a down sleeping bag and pack for more than 50% off! Even better, they're made specifically for women.

We're ready for summer adventures over here! Are you packing for anything fun?

So last 4th of July we did Goldbug Hot Springs (near Salmon) and hiked FAR in to the REMOTE hot spring damned up in the river at Look Creek (near Sunbeam/Challis). With your new gear - I suggest hiking to both these awesome spots! You. Will. Die!

  7. Good job leaning on the rock. Going to the bathroom is always the worst part of camping for a girl. Have you heard of the Go Girl? Maybe it would be helpful, but it also seems super gross. Haha. (http://www.go-girl.com/)
