The Sand Dollar beach trail is an awesome hike in Big Sur. Dramatic Pacific Valley cliffs and coves of jade below give you a great view to whale watch or try to spot dolphins cruising the coastline. It's also a fun surf spot with long breaks that keep rolling for days. With a nearby park area to pic-nic and BBQ and a campgrounds just across the street, Sand Dollar Beach is a must-see. We spent quite a bit of time poking around to find great views, and trying to fight the wind from blowing us over the edge. Our packs were filled with Junior Mints, Red Licorice and other not-so-healthy treats to keep us going just the way we always have, giggling and bumping into each other aimlessly.
