Known for its great fishing, you can grab a canoe or tug boat and paddle across this pristine mountain lake and be sure to get some bites. During the Ice Age, the entire Eastern Sierras region was created by ancient glaciers. Convict Lake was formed by huge slabs of ice that ran into each other and created this moraine (basically a pile of debris) that formed what we see today. Pretty magical to imagine hundreds of thousands of years ago the glacial shifts of earth had a party and made this beautiful sight to behold.
