Destination: The Dolphin House / Location: Pacific City, Oregon / Airbnb Price: $79 per night
Recently we took our little family to the Oregon Coast for some surfing and much needed quiet time. It was a regular weekday and we booked this cozy beach cottage for a couple nights in Pacific City. This space comfortably sleeps four and has everything you need to enjoy a wonderful coastal vacation with some of the nicest beaches around. Van slept in the bedroom while we slept on the futon so we could stay up late, baby free!
The Dolphin House is located in a small community called Tierra Del Mar, which is located just three miles north of Pacific City. Tierra Del Mar is a very quiet spot, and doesn't have any cell phone reception or cable. Just what we needed! It was the perfect place to unplug and relax to the rain puttering on the rooftop. The house is less than half a block from the beach where you can have a bonfire, collect shells, or take your dog for a long walk. With Cape Kiwanda to your left and Cape Lookout to your right, it's a no wonder this place has raving reviews!
A romantic getaway doesn't need to be fancy. The Dolphin House was simple, quiet, and really did feel like home away from home. We spent the evenings playing games and watching movies without the distractions of our phones buzzing and internet browsing. Wow! It looks like a really nice home space - perfect for a young couple to go for a getaway weekend. You mentioned the book of things in the area and letters from previous guests... Did you explore the area much? Was it easy with your baby? Did you leave a letter for future guests?
ReplyDeleteit really is! yes, we ate at the restaurants mentioned and did a fun hike we'll tell you more about later. we also left a note for future guests :) it was easy with our baby, since it was a house we were able to put him to bed in a separate room and stick to his regular schedule. let me know if you have any other questions :)
