A dreamy place where clear blue water nestles at the foot of three volcanoes.
Don't you just wanna dive right in?

My favorite Christmas tradition would be on Christmas eve. My little brother and I would sleep for 5 hours, tops! Whoever woke up first would wake the other (little bro always woke me up), this usually happens around 3am. Then we would dig through our stockings which hung over on the staircase! Mom and Dad always put puzzles and games in them to keep us busy, and would slip in a snack in to keep us out of the pantries. The result of this was my parents finding us passed-out on the couch with stocking stuffers covering the living room floor. Hope you guys had a Merry Christmas!

I may be too late...but my favorite Christmas tradition is decorating the tree with my family :) Hot chocolate and homemade popcorn always make their appearance and than once it is all decorated we turn on the lights and sit around it and tell stories. Love it!

Have you picked someone yet?!?!?! For the past few years our favorite Christmas tradition has been calling MISSIONARIES via SKYPE! My lil' sis is currently serving in GUATE! ;) For the past 6-7 years strait we've been calling a sibling that's been out in the field! So besides calling missionaries, it'd have to be "sobremesa" on Christmas day after my mom's turkey feast! It's where everyone sits around the table for at least an hour after dinner talking about embarrassing moments, family road trips, childhood jokes, etc and laughing and loving life. Sobremesa happens often, but on Christmas evening it's extra special. xoxo
ReplyDeleteFavorite Christmas tradition is getting the whole family together to decorate the tree while mom passes out ornaments for each kid to hang, We all sip egg nog and light the tree together after the ornaments are on. Love it!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this picture!!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite family tradition would be when all my sibs and I would build a fort out of blankets and sleep in it Christmas Eve:) The best!!
gorgeous photo!! i love a print of it :) crossing my fingers! And hmmm...one of my favorite Christmas traditions is opening one present on Christmas Eve! (wow, I sound like a 7 year old. haha)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that print! I can't wait to explore Guatemala, Ive heard magical things about that place :)
ReplyDeleteMy favourite Christmas tradition is going out to find & cut down our tree. It's fun to pack up the kids and explore the forest/tree farm searching for the perfect, or quirky, tree for us each year.
Merry Christmas!
My favorite tradition is gathering in the kitchen with the family after we unwrap presents and start making the antipasto dish. Each of us cut up different italian meats and veggies and then my dad puts it all together on a big platter dish. We do this every year on Christmas morning and it's perfect :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas tradition is simply being with family on Christmas day, Pops reading from Luke 2, and eating lots of yummy soup! We don't do the big shebang with turkey, ham, casseroles, etc...we keep it simple and comforting with soup and chili. In fact, I'm going to go eat some leftovers right now ;-)
ReplyDeletelove this giveaway! my family acts out the story of the birth of Christ as my dad reads it from the Bible. it's a good time & a good reminder :)
ReplyDeletemy favorite christmas tradition is family nap all afternoon after we have stuffed ourselves with delicious lunch :)
ReplyDeletethis year was my first married christmas! i made all the ornaments on our tree, and our stockings! (that's not really a tradition...) but my husband and i each add to each other's collections each year (mine, of editions of To Kill a Mockingbird, and my husband's collection of vintage cameras.) so fun! i LOVE this print. I would hang it so proudly in my home!
ReplyDeleteWe love to leave reindeer food out for Santa. Very silly but fun!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tradition is our family breakfast in our pjs with delicious cinnamon rolls. My husband and I started this tradition when we got married and it was so fun including our daughter this year!
ReplyDeleteMy family christmas tradition growing up was collecting grass and putting in a shoe box under the tree for the three wise kings (puerto rican substitute for santa). In the morning there would be a trail of grass from our beds to the tree, as if the horses been to our room! It was so exciting for my sisters and I. Definitely will do the same for my babies one day :D
ReplyDeleteFeliz Navidad chicas!
All of our family comes over and we have a huge dinner, along with a few fun games and ending the night with the reenactment of the nativity. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteMy parents are Guatemalan and for the past three years we spent our Christmas out there until the passing of my grandfather and so what reminds me most of him is also my favorite Christmas tradition, which was the fireworks at the strike of midnight. It was chaotic but in a fun way because all the family was gathered together and my grandfather would have the best of times.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful picture! Hmm, favorite family tradition? Opening one gift on Christmas Eve- I'm very impatient. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteMy parents are from Guatemala and Christmas was about the only thing that linked me to my Guatemalan past. We celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve. I love opening presents at midnight, eating tamales, dancing and the fireworks.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous print!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas tradition is that each year, before everyone goes to bed on Christmas Eve, my Dad reads "The Night Before Christmas" from an old copy that used to belong to his father. It's so nice just to sit and listen to the story!
We are just building up traditions.... but one that I like the most right now is exchanging ornaments with all my family members. There are some awesome, sometimes crazy ornaments that come from this- but each one perfectly tailored to that individual person. AND Merry Christmas to you!
ReplyDeletethroughout the year my dad collects books for me and my siblings and so on Christmas day we each have book boxes to open as part of our gifts...the best part is that he usually forgets what each book is so it's a fun surprise for him as well:)
ReplyDeleteOh, I have so many favorite traditions...like opening 1 gift on Christmas Eve, singing happy birthday to baby Jesus and blowing out candles on a birthday cake for Him. Spending time with my dad's side of the family on Christmas Eve.
ReplyDeletegoing for a family walk on christmas day is my favorite tradition!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have a huge amount of Christmas traditions - my family is Chinese, so it took us awhile to even get on the Christmas train! But we're starting one this year where we're going to bake cookies together after dinner, especially since my niece is old enough to help now!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite Christmas traditions would be our picture taking at my grandmother's house. Every year we take a photo with us 14 grandkids lined up... by height! This year my eldest cousin is the 3rd shortest while my two youngest cousins are the 3rd and 4th tallest!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas! :)
