Destination: Haleiwa, Hawaii / Accommodation: Eco Yoga B&B via Airbnb / Rate: $125 per night
Tucked in the countryside of Haleiwa, a mecca for surfing and high on the chill factor, we decided to stay at this country joint for our anniversary getaway. A rustic place with an amazing host made for a relaxing time and good conversation. Food here comes straight from the backyard to fresh on the table, and the host, Cab, prepares meals using all his home-grown produce. Bananas, papaya, coconut, kale, and figs were each on the menu. Cab is a yoga instructor, certified massage therapist and an avid essential oils advocate with knowledge up the wa-zoo about all things natural. There is an outdoor shower, as well as access to a bathroom indoors. Hammocks hang in the backyard with an upper deck patio with couches to enjoy a good read over breakfast. Bikes are available for you to use if you're feeling up for a spin, and the surf is just minutes away. If you're new to the island Cab can help orient you to the whereabouts on the North Shore and he'll even hook you up with a yoga lesson. All in all, you're guaranteed to have an awesome live-in experience the true North Shore way. If you end up booking with him, please do tell him that we sent you his way (include my name and our site). He'll be stoked, you'll be stoked, and we'll all be stoked together.
This looks so peaceful! I'd absolutely love to stay there for a few nights. :-)
