HOW TO: STAY WARM IN ANDORRA

2/15/12

WHERE IN THE WORLD IS ANDORRA?

far far away in a magical place,
lies a tiny country nestled in the mountains
between spain and france.
have you ever heard of andorra?
i read some of the longest living people
abide in this part of europe.
on our way to france we stayed in a village called arans.
it's on the tippy top of the hill in andorra.
we took a bus there for a couple euros and after some windy roads
we were greeted by a local himself and his canadian wife,
eager to welcome us to their home in andorra.
destination: arans, andorra / accommodations: $75 per night

it truly was the most romantic getaway.
for how cold the temperatures were outside,
we were content snuggling inside almost the whole time.
warming up by the fire and ignoring the clock.
don't mind if i do, andorra.
 the "how to" details:
we took around a three hour bus ride to andorra from barcelona.
we purchased our tickets online ahead of time
for 90 euros each from barcelona --> andorra --> toulouse.
once you get to andorra the bus system is most convenient.
if you don't have a car you can take the bus or hitch hike!
we found most people in andorra also speak spanish with little english.
we highly recommend booking via airbnb for comfortable lodging.
let us know if you have any other questions!

come here if you love outdoor activities and a little tranquility.
andorra was lovely and a country well worth visiting.
