Chinese Pork Spare Ribs
Country of Origin: Asia
Pork ribs are extremely popular in Asia and even many parts of North America (as we all know, wink wink). They can be smoked, grilled, or baked and are most often served with a yummy sauce, often barbecue. This recipe speaks for itself.
This is a delicious recipe and was a big hit with Chase and I. Since it is just the two of us, I made 2 pounds although you can adjust serving size by the pound using a handy system on this website. The original recipe called for 4 pounds. There are many delicious Chinese pork spare rib recipes, but i chose this one because I only had these ingredients.
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Gather ingredients, measuring utensils, a pan, and aluminum foil
Ingredients:
2 pounds pork spare ribs
1/4 cup Kikkoman Soy Sauce
2 tablespoons and 2 teaspoons honey
2 tablespoons dry sherry (I went without)
1/2 clove garlic, crushed
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
1 bell pepper (optional, I added this because I had it and figured why not)
Directions:
- Cut ribs into serving pieces and place in shallow foil lined pan with meaty side down
- Combine soy sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger and brush ribs generously with sauce
- Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour
- Turn ribs over and pour remaining sauce on the ribs
- Bake uncovered for 30 minutes longer uncovered
- Serve with rice and enjoy!
Those look amazing. I already wrote down the recipe for next week's menu. Thanks. Love the blog!
